Is Chrome The Right Color For Your New Ceiling Lights?
Many people choose a chrome ceiling light because it blends in with all of the other colors in the room, but is there a better choice? Most of the time there is! I’m not trying to knock chrome as a finish, but most of the time there is are better options. In this post I want to share with you how to go about figuring out which finish is the best for your room so that you’re not left with the lowest common denominator.
The first step is to figure out which colors are the most common in your room. You might think that this is pretty obvious, but it’s important to look beyond the color of the cabinets, the couch or the curtains. Look at the pictures on the wall, all of the furniture, the stuff on the shelves, and everything else in there. The light should compliment all of this stuff as well.
Once you have a common theme of colors, it’s time to figure out what matches them. Bronze matches most muted colors, like brown. Brass is very plain (and affordable) and will match gold, yellow, and other warm colors. Black lights pair well with other black stuff, but also any room that has lots of contrasting colors. Use chrome lights when you have other chrome items in the room for the best results, not just because everyone else does!
Now that you know how some of the other finishes of ceiling lights pair with the colors of your room, you are much more likely to be able to make a great decision on your new light. There are a lot of choices out there, and you certainly don’t want to have to make the decision twice! Get the light that works best the first time so that you can be happy with it for as long as you live in your home.
